Forklift Training Melbourne and License Testing

Registered Training Organisations provide forklift training and Worksafe credited license testing for forklift operators in Melbourne. Even if you have a single employee who requires an assessment in order to get licensed, some RTO’s have assessors who can conduct the tests on site.

The on site training includes training inexperienced operators preparing to get a forklift operator’s license to refresher training for operators already certified. The operators can be trained and examined on site with equipment that they use every day.

As an employer you should be able to prove that your operators are well versed in forklift use and forklift safety precautions in the work place. Worksafe licensing recommends that all forklift operators should undergo a refresher program every twelve to twenty four months.  This is important to provide proof that competency levels, safety measures and precautions are still being observed in the work environment.

RTO’s that provide forklift license Melbourne training course can provide tailor made refresher training programs for different companies. The programs can be suited to individual circumstances and work environment, they can either be individualized or group trainings.

On site forklift assessments are available throughout Melbourne and select country areas with RTO’s.

Everyone being assessed is provided with a short theory course majorly used to promote forklift safety. The theory is later followed with practical sessions designed to show case forklift operation, use and forklift safety procedures. Less experienced forklift operators can book additional training classes to improve their competency.

All operators should read the requirements for onsite training and assessment to improve their chances of passing and success. And before any assessment all operators being tested will need an approved photo id during the testing. This ensures that they are eligible for the forklift assessment.

On successfully completing the forklift assessment both theory and practical’s, the trainees will be provided with an interim license to perform High Risk Work-LF. This temporary license will last for 60 days after which one will be required to go to the Australian Post and show 100 points of identification; have a photo taken or provide a high quality passport photo and pay $60 to Worksafe Victoria.

Then you will be issued with a 5 year forklift operating license. The license will be sent to Worksafe Victoria and can be renewed upon expiration.
